More than 100 friends and dignitaries attended dinner at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on June 14 to enjoy a cocktail reception and dinner and honor Susan and Robert Ash for exceptional service to Amer- ica and to Republicans. Residents of Westlake Village, Susan and Robert grew up in this area. Susan is a graduate of Agoura High School, attended dental hygiene school at UCLA and later received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pepperdine University. In 1957, Rob's family purchased a ranch in Hidden Valley and Rob learned to ranch at an early age. Rob attended Loyola High School, and later graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Economics. Shortly thereafter, both Susan and Robert became active in civic affairs.
In 2001, Susan was a co-founder and the first president of Westlake Village Republican Women, Federated. She later served on the WVRWF board as 1st Vice President, 3rd Vice President, Treasurer, Recording and Corresponding Secretary. Currently she serves, as she has for the past thirteen years, as a co-chair for the also been active at the county level working for the Ventura County Federated Republican Women. Susan was first appointed then later elected to the Ventura County Republican Party Central Committee.
Both Robert and Susan received appointments and served as dele- gates for the California Republican Party. They have supported and worked for several Republican cam- paigns, including: State Assemblyman Jeff Gorell, State Senator Tony Strickland, Congressman Elton Gallegey, District Attorney Greg Totten and former District Attorney and fellow rancher Mike Bradbury.
Politically active and generous with their time, Robert and Susan have worked on mailers, phone banks, walked precincts and hosted many WVRWF events at their home and ranch, including hosting Ventura County Republican Party.
