We're Republicans making a difference

Political Education

Monthly Meetings:Our monthly luncheons and occasional dinners, feature interesting and informative guest speakers. It is also an opportunity to network and enjoy the company of other "right-minded" people.

Newsletters, Website, Links: WVRWF publishes an informative bimonthly newsletter called "The Trumpet" and keeps its website updated with important and current information. Members also receive "action alerts" should some pending legislation require our attention.

Political Action

Registering Voters: The most important job we do is registering Republican voters. We do this at the Conejo Valley Days Fair, Ventura County Fair, and at Naturalization ceremonies where immigrants are sworn in as U.S. citizens. For more info, go here .

Campaigns:Our members often assist our elected Republican representatives with mailings and by walking precincts.

Legislation:We keep our members informed on important state and national legislation. For example, click here.

Caring for America

Casa Pacifica: This facility, which is located in Camarillo, serves residential and day students who have been abused and neglected or who are severely emotionally disturbed. We have helped to complete their library with Newbury and Caldecott Award winning books. We donated CD's, toys and games for the children to use. We purchased flags and stands for their classrooms. We have providing new clothing and personal care items for the children. This Christmas we adopted children at the facility and purchased Christmas gifts for them. Click here for more info.

Prototypes: This facility, which is located in Oxnard, is a Center for women and is committed to the provision of residential and aftercare services to women wishing recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. PWC provides an environment for daily support, education, counseling, and enhancement of the quality of life for the women and children it serves. To this end, WVRWF has provided clothing for the women and children, as well as personal care items. We also collected toys for the children. Click here for more info.

My Stuff Bags: This philanthropy helps abused, neglected, and displaced children as they arrive at crisis centers and shelters with nothing of their own, by giving each child thier own blue duffle bag containg a variety of brand new items including stuffed animals, toys, books, games and a cuddly "security blanket". We organize groups of our members to help stuff duffle bags and make fleece blankets. Click here for info.

Support Our Troops

March for Troops: In March, we sponsor "March for the Troops" where we collect a truckload of items including books, CD's, commercially packaged food and candy, personal care items, and stationery, and ship them to our brave troops deployed in Iraq and Afganistan.

On-going Support We continue our support throughout the year. In the Fall, we sign Christmas cards and donate items for the troops. These go to Operation Gratitude with members helping to pack thousands of boxes for the troops deployed overseas. This January, we donated hundreds of warm mittens and scarves for our troops in Afganistan to hand out to children. In February, we collected phone cards. We are grateful for the freedoms our brave military have helped to defend. To learn how you can support our troops, click here.
